Please don't stop the rain.

I must look like a maniac. Quite honestly, picture this; scrawny girl sitting on a garden bench with no coat and just an umbrella as a shield as the heavens open above. What must the neighbours think? I quite honestly love summer rain. There's nothing quite like it. The sun is great, don't get me wrong but then rain is so much more inspiring. It quenches the soul rather than dehydrating the mind. Then there's the simply gorgeous smell, like the air has been completely cleaned. It's beautiful. So, give it a go, sit out in the rain. It may look a bit ridiculous but, when enough people look ridiculous it starts to look normal.

Bow ties are cool

Ok, so I'll admit it... I recently started to watch Doctor Who. Before Matt Smith became the doctor I had zero interest but I thought I'd give it a go. Before, I was a proud none follow of the show, an individual thinker. Oh how wrong I was. It's BRILLIANT! Ok so the monsters and aliens aren't exactly my style but the comical dialogue can be hilarious and the chemistry between Amy Pond and the doctor never fails to entertain me. Last night was a particular gem; James Corden (My oh my he's getting everywhere these days) guest starred as the Doctor attempted to pass himself off as a human being with Amy Pond off somewhere in space. In the Doctors words "What could possibly go wrong?"

The Doctor pretending to be human had my sides splitting, from playing football (asking 'is that the one with the sticks') to talking to a cat (it was funnier than it sounds)  this got me wondering, like in every episode of the new series, why haven't I watched this before? If Sci- fi isn't your thing I still advise you to give it a go, it's witty, dramatic, emotional and has a lot of heart. Matt Smith shows off his incredible acting skills to show a funny, eccentric and at times even tortured Doctor and teamed up with the amazing Karen Gillian as Amy Pond, you really can't go wrong.

I will still admit I prefer the more normal comical episodes to the real outer space ones. But that's just me but this still proves this show has something for everyone. In fact I have been such a convert I've even started watching confidential... how sad is that!? But of course confidential is very entertaining and we get to see a very fashionable Matt Smith and Karen Gillian in their element ( I love the way Karen dresses! ) . So if you haven't been converted to Who yet... come over to the dark side my friend. Enjoy the antics of the bow tie clad Doctor and his loveable assistant. Because as the Doctor says.... Bow Ties are cool!

Beauty and the Beast

Wow, I've been away for a while and where I still doubt anyone is reading this I won't let that stop me. So, the most interesting event that has occurred lately are auditions for this years musical. Beauty and the Beast. All. Out. Disney. I was quite shocked by this choice but who doesn't enjoy a good Disney musical? Well... lots of people but that isn't the point. My love of acting once again found my waiting with anticipation outside the audition room. The competition was rife to say the least, girls swarming around me like flies exclaiming their lines with varying success and as my friend put it "I felt like we were in a nursery". But eventually we stumbled into the audition room and performed our piece as far as we know... it went well.

Then of course there was the singing auditions. I am not the best singer but maybe I should have thought of that before I was sitting in a crowded room listening to a number of people who would get into 'the X Factor' practice their songs. I was one note short of rocking back and forth huddled in a corner. As for the audition it was..... ok. Oh, who am I kidding, it was terrible and an experience I never wish to repeat. Cast list day should be fun.

Beauty and the beast was my favourite Disney movie. Belle was my ultimate princess mainly because... she wasn't a princess. She was a normal bookworm with a heart of gold and a sense of humour something I found Cinderella and Snow White really lacked. There's a real message to the story too when you think about it, looks don't matter, it's the beauty on the inside that counts. Everyone should remember that a little more.

Some pictures :)

Above is a north east beach :) South Shields, home of the one and only Joe Mceldery :) I love this beach even though it's normally freezing cold. It's also a great place to find fish and chips.
This is a cute little cottage on a little island the coast of cornwall. The boat ride's a bit rocky bit worth it.
And finally, lake Garda, Italy, ahhh.... what I would give for a geltao right now!

So those were some of my favourite places and pictures of the last year... all summer if you'll notice. AH, bring on the warmth please!

Please comment if you're reading this.... you know... so I know I'm not alone... in a dark corner... singing show tunes to myself....

Anyway, hope you have a great start to 2010!

Happy new year!

Wow, in 6 hours it'll be 2010 (how are we pronouncing that by the way? Two thousand and ten? Twenty ten? I'm never sure) I feels weird doesn't it? I mean it's not just the end of the year but the end of a decade! I feel like I've grown up so much in this decade and so much has changed. Like in 1999, I couldn't have even imagined having a portable computer and writing on the internet. The internet was still a scary new thing that everyone said was going to crash at midnight.

New years eve is always so stressful and in all honesty... I hate it. I'm going to go all pop culture on you here and refer to an episode from season one of 'how I met your mother'. The episode was called 'the limo'. Set on New years eve in New York City, Ted has organised 'the best new years eve EVER!' and has hired a limo, the evening starts out great but ends in all round disappointment. After all it's only New Year's Eve. But wherever you are enjoy it and hopefully you'll have a fab new year.

And don't let friends drink and dial...

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Christmas has been quite nice this year with the unexpected snow at what not... everything is always so much more magical when it snows. So now the main events over it's all about being lazy and enjoying the christmas telly :)
So, what's new in the world? Well, I nearly got killed at the boxing day sales today; it was a complete bloodbath! I was kicked, trampled on and squashed... that's the christmas spirit isn't it? And I think it will be watching Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl and Gavin and Stacey DVD's till new year... I feel so lazy. Anyhow short post just to update; there'll be more purpose to the next one... I promise.

Push button publishing.

Hello everyone.
I have recently gained a follower! Yay! I thought this day would never come... oh look at me, getting all teary eyed. Welcome follower! Anyway getting on with the main event. I think I shall fill you in regarding the sound of music. Well, Big S became captain von trap, little S Rolf (why? Oh why?) , C as Lisel (all the other Lisels now plotting her demise, I'm sure) and B as Maria (which I also didn't see coming). So it's all going on in the drama department. Meanwhile, the dark nights are making me sleepy and all I feel like doing is curling up and watching an Audrey Hepburn film (escaping new moon mania!)... Audrey always cheers up the winter blues. Anyhow, I'm finding blog topics more and more difficult to come up with... hmm, inspiration. Well, all I can see is heat magazines weird crush 2009... Derren Brown... hmm, that's erm... interesting. I always wondered how they feel when they're told your our WEIRD crush! Aka, we wouldn't normally admit this in public. I must admit my weird crush is a Hugh Laurie. Yes, Dr House... cringe. Maybe it's the blue eyes... maybe I'm just strange; either way I never miss an episode! Okie Dokie... off to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's
